In modern times, rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals is a bigger challenge for the judicial system. Policies and programs are put in place which focuses reducing the crime rate. The primary methods are by keeping the inmate in prison for as long as possible. But this is not the actual meaning of rehabilitation or correction. Rehabilitation means to help the inmate towards the path of reformation. The first obstacle towards the path of rehabilitation is the mindset of the people in charge who are responsible for the rehabilitation program. There is a deep-seeded skepticism working here regarding whether rehabilitation actually works or not. The first reason is that those who have once committed a crime will again commit a crime no matter how much they are prepared otherwise.
